.................................SO THE.STORY BEGIN................................

.

.

.

Beep… Beep... Beep… The life support machine keeps on singing monotonous tune to entertain anyone who enters the room. The wall is bare and cold. There he lay, on the bed. Alone… Unmoved by the chaos of his surrounding. Unperturbed by all hustle and bustle of white collar doctors and nurses.

Annie screamed inside. She yearns for a smile on that face. His jokes always make her day. It was three years ago that faith brought them together. It was a youth camp where he was one of the facilitator.

“Tonight, we will be sleeping in tents. I want all scouts to put up their tents and get comfortable. Because tonight is ‘not… like the usual night’!” he smiled. Annie could have sworn she heard he dragged his last words for a reason. Like he’s hinting something…

As he walked across the girl scouts, he stopped for a while and said “Oh, I forgot to tell you guys that dinner is waiting in cans and you may need to light up fire on your own. Don’t worry, we will give you a box of matches to make life easier” he smirked. His eyes were filled with something mischievous but Annie just couldn’t figure it out.

It was an exhausting day for all of them. 4 hours journey into the camping site and they had to walk deep into the jungle to find a flat land to camp up. It’s Annie and her friends’ first experience with nature. If it wasn’t compulsory, they would rather have pajama party at Annie’s house or make a prank calls on their friends.

“Here” He said… “Use it wisely or the night will be Looooong for you guys” He chuckled. Annie took the match box. “Thanks a lot” she replied.

“It’s not 'a lot' but, you’re welcome!” His mischievous smile never left his face and the he sang ‘No woman no cry’ and disappeared from her sight.

It was almost dark; they managed to put up the tent though they struggled at the beginning. Everyone was exhausted and hungry. Now they have to cook the canned food. Annie reached for the match box and to her surprise; there were only 4 sticks of matches! The girls’ mouth gapped open. Tired and hungry, the girls gathered woods and tried to light a fire.

They did just like what they saw on TV. It all seemed almost too easy in theory. They lit up the first match and burn the dried leaves and smokes started to gather… Happy, they started blowing on it and the leaves was engulf in fire. They put more dry woods and they have a good fire for the whole night. “Not bad for a first timer huh?” Annie said. They all laughed in delight.

While the other scouts were still struggling, the girls opened up the canned food. It was red beans, a mushroom soup, and small sardines. “How are we going to survive on these?” one of the girls asked. There was a moment of silence and the girls were looking at each other. “Well, it’s better than nothing…” Annie broke the silence.

Minutes later, food is almost ready and it’s time to boil the soup. While Annie was stirring the soup, “Pluck!” a stone fall from nowhere and into the soup! Annie was shocked! The hot soup could’ve splashed on her face! “Ops! My bad! Sorry about your soup. I was trying my gun-slinging skills” He laughed. “Enjoy your dinner though!” and he took off! Other groups tried to conceal their laugh.

After dinner, all scouts gathered for the next activity. “I guess you guys are all excited because tonight we will start our camp activity. We will have a bonfire tonight. Hans will explain more about it. “ The main instructor said. “So that’s his name!” Annie muttered alone, still in rage. “Hello again people, so for tonight’s activity, each group will come up with a motto and a theme song for their group. We will have an ice breaking session and you guys will be entertaining us.” He chuckled.

Their eyes were locked for a moment. “And….” He continued “I hope you guys had your lovely dinner and for those who haven’t, don’t worry; we will give out breads and chocolates to aid your stomach” he grinned, then continued “and maybe you can have a ‘Stone Soup’ courtesy of the girls’ group here” hinting Annie and the girls. There was a loud cheer from the crowd and others were amused.

Beep…! Beep…! Beep…! Beep…! All machinery went havoc! Annie was stunned for a while. “Help!” she almost didn’t hear herself. “Help!” even louder now. The nurses rushed in then the doctor came. Annie was told to wait outside. Helpless and alone. She tried to gather all strength she can muster, but the thin wall of her eyes just couldn’t keep up with her heavy flowing tears. “What have I done?”…

A week after the youth camp, Annie got a call. “Hey you! How’s life?” Annie was confused but she replied none the less “Fine, I guess. May I know whose calling?” There was a chuckle at the other line. “I’m just calling to check up on you and… to apologize about the Stone Soup” chuckled again. “Oh, Hans is it?” “Whoa! U remembered my name; you must’ve had a crush on me or something!” He burst out laughing. “What…..” Annie was perplexed.

“I know, I know. Hey, how about Lunch? It’s on me. I really feel bad that you were still angry at me during the last day of camp. Pizza near Papa John’s, Palm Street? Say around…one?? Great! I’ll wait for you there! Bye!” Click! The phone ended. Still baffled, Annie was speechless. She almost ignored his invitation if it wasn’t for her guilty conscience. Plus, Pizza near Papa John’s is not too far away from her place. “Heck! Why not”…

More nurses went in and out with bloody bandages and the smell reeked out of the room. Annie wanted to help but she knew that there’s nothing that she could possibly do. “It’s my fault! Damn it!” She punched the wall and she almost didn’t feel anything at that moment. She was engulfed in guilt and remorse. She repented her decision. She sensed that something might go wrong but still she went with the plan. Deep inside, she is shrieking! She’s too afraid to lose him. “Please God, just save him.”

Lunch with him that day was a great day to remember. They had a great time quarreling over the menu, reminiscing about the youth camp, and they shared stories of their lives. Soon, there were more days like that where they could just hang out and have fun together. It was a year after that that he proposed to her. Annie was delighted but her studies came first. So they decided to just continue dating.

The day of Annie’s convocation, he proposed again. This time, Annie just doesn’t have the heart to say no to him for the second time. They were going to break the news to their family and make it official.

“It’s going to be a HUGE news!” he smiled. Almost pleased with himself.

“But, are you sure you want to tell your family now? You can just call them you know”

He laughed. Delighted it seems. “My mom would kill me if I don’t break the news to her personally!”

He added “It’s just an hour ride to my hometown. Come on stone soup girl! You’re not having cold feet are you?” He laughed again.

“But it’s almost nine…. I don’t...”

“No more excuses ok. Let’s just surprise them with this happy news!” he smiled.

“You are loosing your mind. You are crazy” Annie chuckled.

“Yes I am!” He declared. “I am Crazy!” He smiled. “I’m Crazy over you!” Annie was flushed.

30 minutes past them by. Its quarter past ten now. The radio entertained both nervous hearts. “Hey… my favourite song!” He put the volume up and sang along; making cute funny faces. Annie was amused. He continued on…

“As it was, log would burn on through the night.

Then we would cook ‘Stone Soup’

Of which I'll share with you.

My feet is my only carriage.

So I've got to push on thru

Oh, while I'm gone…

BAMMM! An SUV ram on to them from the driver’s side! Everything went blurry. Annie could feel Hans’ body hugging her tight, almost protecting her. She could feel a hot liquid on her palm then everything went blank. The song continues…

“Everything’s gonna be alright, everything’s gonna be alright.

Everything’s gonna be alright, everything’s gonna be alright.

So no woman no cry, no, no woman no cry…”

Annie woke up in the hospital bed, unharmed. Frantically she asked for him to the nurses and they showed her. He was plugged into the life support machine. She’s been unconscious for 2 hours the nurse explained. “The doctor fears that you might have a concussion…” Annie just couldn’t focus on the voice. It disappeared into the background. There he lay; his face is bruised. Almost fully covered with bandages. Still breathing…

That is all that she can remember after the accident. Annie has been waiting for almost half an hour now. She kept on praying for him. Still hoping that everything’s going to be alright. That she can still hear his voice just once more. Hear his jokes and witness the shine in his eyes. She’s counting on the minutes and flashbacks of their memories just hit her hard. With each memory, she suffers more. “God, please save him…” she’s shaking now. She can heart her heart breaking apart.

The nurses pushed through the door, carrying with them all the equipments. Annie’s becoming almost frantic now. Then the doctor came up to her… Her heart skipped few beats… She ran inside and slowly reached him. There was a smile in his face. Annie was in disbelief. She’s crushed. The doctor’s words rang in her ears. “He’s gone. I’m so sorry. I am very sorry…”

Bootee and The Blitz

This story is adapted from the fairy tale (La Belle et la Bête) by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont. This is just a free narration I made out of my desperation to finish my assignment for Creative writing class. The Characters and my storyline are purely fictional. So please, don’t sue me. Enjoy! :)

 *****

Once upon our time, there lives a beautiful girl, Bootee. She’s the hottest maiden in town. Bootee loves reading and yearns for a life beyond the village.   She lives with her father in a small flat. They are happy. They take care of each other. Just the two of them.

A billion light years away from there, there lives a Prince. The most hideous prince known to planet Pluto. His name is Blitz a.k.a Blitzkrieg. Blitz’s nose is slightly upward. Every time light meteor shower hits, he’s the only one who gets suffocated (due to the debris stuck in his nostrils). His eyes bulge out of the socket every time he sneezes. Blitz’s decided to end his suffering. He tries to make an appointment from renowned plastic surgeon on planet earth, Dr.Dre.

So Blitz agreed to take a trip to planet earth. Dr.Dre fixed an appointment for Blitz next month since he’s fully booked by Mars Hip Hop Legend, Eminem. While going for sight seeing on planet earth, Blitz saw Bootee… He decided to capture her as souvenir. He brought her back to the castle.

Locked up in the castle, Bootee was accompanied by weird animate objects like the teacup set, the clock, the candle holder, even the wardrobe speaks to her. This scared the bejeezer out of her the first time around. Within hours they became friends. And Bootee discovers that Blitz is actually a lonely soul with no friends.

The story goes that one day, an enchantress disguised as an old beggar woman offers Blitz a rose in exchange for a night's shelter. When he turns her away, she transforms him ugly and turns his servants into furniture and other household items. She gives him a magic mirror that will enable him to view faraway events, and also gives him the rose, which will bloom until his 21st birthday. He must love and be loved in return before all the rose's petals have fallen off, or he will remain ugly forever.

The candle holder gives Bootee a tour of the castle. When she finds the rose in a forbidden area, Blitz angrily chases her away. Frightened, Bootee tries to escape, but she is attacked by booger (a green-yellowish creature that lives in a cave called nostrils - go figure.. (-.-)" After Blitz rescues her, she nurses his wounds, he gives her the castle library (?) as a gift, and they become friends.

Later, they have an elegant dinner and a romantic ballroom dance to celebrate Blitz’s 21st birthday. When he lets her use the magic mirror, she sees her father sick and frail, with only hours left before the rose wilts, the Beast allows her to leave. This horrifies the servants, who fear they will never be normal again. As he watches her leave, Blitz admits to his servants that he loves Bootee. Little did he know, Blitz’s arch enemy, Gastong plotted to kill Blitz and dethrone him around midnight.

Gastong slid into the castle, finds Blitz sobbing at the make up table and attacks him from behind. (Urm.... not ‘that’ kind of attack…(-.-)" Moving on…) Blitz who is initially too depressed to fight back, regains his will when he hears Bootee arriving at the castle. After winning a heated battle, Blitz spares Gastong’s life and climbs up to a balcony where Bootee is waiting. (ok.. storyline getting weird) Gaston follows Blitz and stabs him from behind, (again… not ‘that’ kind of stabbing.. (-.-)" but loses his footing and falls to his death.

As Blitz dies from his injuries, Bootee whispers that she loves him, breaking the spell just before the last petal drops from the rose. Blitz comes back to life, and he and the servants become normal again. So he canceled his appointment with Dr. Dre and fixed an appointment with a wedding planner instead.

Ehem! Ehem! *Fixing my narrator voice*..

Long before the time of our ancestor, our forefathers looked like aliens.
Without hair or fur, just skin and bones and one huge eyes.
One day while hunting,
they saw the most extraordinary Creature in the animal kingdom, the Lion.
What amaze them were not the creature’s sharp claws, nor its magnificent fangs.
They were stunt by the beauty of the lion.
Thick luscious hair on it, glinting like golden sheet at the struck of sunshine.

Then our forefathers called up a meeting to discuss this matter during dinner near the bonfire. They were still awfully strike with their encounter of this magnificent creature with golden sheet.
They couldn’t stop talking about it.
Then they decide on a plan to stalk these creatures.
Maybe they can investigate how or where these creatures get their golden sheet.

They followed the creature with intense precaution.
Day in, day out, they watch these creature and report back daily activity of these magnificent creature. How they sleep, how they hunt, how they eat, how they play, just about everything.
But our forefather still couldn’t figure out anything about the golden sheet.
Dumbfounded, our forefathers assembled another meeting.

They remembered the wicked witch of the west mountain.
They decided, that what ever it takes, they must somehow be granted wisdom to acquire the golden sheet.
So, they wandered about to locate whereabouts of the wicked witch.
When they finally locate her, they made an appointment to see her.

For 7days and 7nights they travelled.
Their hearts were gleaming with hopes.
When they arrived, they went for One on One session with the witch and told the witch their desire to acquire a Golden sheet of their own.

Some want to have it covering up their entire body, some just want to cover up 'certain' places, some just want to have a long golden sheet on their head with different colour and highlights.

All forefathers agreed on one thing for sure, they all want a golden sheet covering up their big eyes because they are afraid of getting cataract.
The wicked witch agreed to grant their desires and she wish to see what offerings they might bring her for this particular deed.
Because of all the excitement,
our forefathers forgot to bring along offerings for the wicked witch.
The wicked witch was very enraged by this and couldn’t help but to sulk in a corner.

Our forefathers was anxious and they agreed to entertain the wicked witch by doing jumping jacks, hula hoops, rope skipping, & played cops and thieves with the wicked witch.
Satisfied, the wicked witch agreed to go on with the plan.
But, she informed our forefathers that the thing they want the most will recede over time.

Our forefathers understood and they sign up a M.O.U & agreed to all the terms and condition. Minutes later, the wicked witch chants in each ears.
And… *Pooff* Our forefathers are no longer bare, they have different style of ‘sheet’ on their body. Their eyes are no longer hurt when they are under hot gleaming sun.
Because they have what they call, an ‘i-borrow’ which later known to us as, eyebrows.

So folks, that is why until now we have eyebrows.
(At least, according to me anyway.) XD

Once upon a Story

There was a Girl. Who build up the highest wall,
For she didn't build it for fame. It was more like a defense.
Keeping her safe from the meanest predator.
From the evil of those who does not care or bother.
A world that would make her emotions swirls and twirls.
From the harsh reality of the ugly world…

The wall, shutting her from anything and everything.
Shutting her from outside… Making her suffocate inside.
But it kept her safe. It’s a place where no one could reach her.
No one could hurt her.

Sometimes, she climbs up the wall, peeking through the other side and envied what she saw… Human, what strange creature they are….
The humans even saw her too... Asked her to let them through.
She hesitated a while. They made her think. Made her believe that it’s okay to let people in. That it’s ok to tear down the wall.  So she believed them. Their words seem convincing. Nothing could go wrong. That she would be secure and happy while she’s with them.
So she tears down the wall. Into little, tiny pieces…

One day, they all left her. She got nowhere to go and nobody to talk to.
They all have abandoned her… She felt sad, betrayed, and then she looked back at the wall… what’s left of it… She cried, and was drowned in her sorrow.
She knew she will be alone again tomorrow...
But nothing that she can do.
What is done, can never be undone…
She trusted, and they break her faith…

Human, she said, they will hurt you all the same. No matter why or how.
Because they are all human. With self greed and egotistical nature.
They can only think what’s best for themselves.
If your existence does not profit them, you are next to non-existence.

She knew all along how ugly and evil the world can be.
She took a risk and the world failed her.
Human had left her with those hopes, those empty promises…

Golden Day!

.
.
.
It was sunday,
Nobody was home. except me, my bro, my mom, and Golden, the Cat.
Because the cat is all white..
I don't understand why her name is Golden.
She's old, and she's a 'Golden' Pain in the ass!

P/s: This story is NOT about Golden ^^

One fine day,
My bro was in a hurry for a 'dates' with his girlfriends,
He put his bag on the couch to grab something on the fridge.
When he came back, there was some alien looking chocolate on it!
Shit! Shit! Shit! He was extremely angry...
I remembered how green his face was.. It was horrifying!
After that incident,
My bro and Golden are Sworn Enemy!

So? where was I?
Oh yeah, It was Sunday..
My mother was busy with her Bollywood movies..
Golden was busy playing dead.
Me and my bro decided to go out for dinner.

The last thing he needed to do is put Golden out or
the cat would poop or pee as she pleases.

The taxi arrives,
and as we walk out of the house,
the cat scoots back in.

My brother returns inside to chase it out.
Confused, the taxi driver asked: "so, is he coming?"
Busy with the thought of what to eat for dinner,
and not wannting to say something long and complicated,
I said: "My bro is just going upstairs to say goodbye to my mother." *Smile*

Several minutes later,
exhausted, my bro arrives and climbed back into the taxi
saying, 'Sorry I took so long, the stupid idiot was hiding under the bed
and I had to poke her with a broom stick several times before I could get her to come out!'

I just smiled to the Taxi Driver...
