An hOnest appraisaL..

So here I am again..

Been wanting to write but just can’t coz I was so caught up in the ‘busy-ness’.

(Yeah. I am busy when I’m busy being busy)

Went to watch the long awaited ‘Alice in Wonderland’ on Friday and liked it!

I can’t say that I loved it because there’s other movies with better story line.. :)

But Tim Burton is surely one Hell of a Director if you ask me..

Always loved his movies.. He can create wonders..

I wonder what constantly going on in that creative Brain of his.

It was surely a Fantasy world of Wonderland..

HOWEVER...

I didn't find it to be the masterpiece I'd hoped for. It's good. It's very good -- and there are flashes of greatness within it. The visuals were, absolutely great, but it was lacking in story.

I rather enjoyed the movie, It felt good to reminisce the good old good times.

The characters just brings back childhood memories..

Once Upon a Time..

It was delightful! Like meeting old friends.. It was a reunion! haha

Johnny Depp & Helena Boham Carter rocked this movie! They really can act! Haha!

MADHATTER

I can't get enough of his acting, he's like from other planet or something.. Ngee..

J.D, will you be my pet?

BEHOLD, THE RED QUEEN

Hahaha.. I Just luv it when she says: "Of with er' Head!!"

Her head is seriously, humungously Large!

&

THE WHITEQUEEN

Anne H. Is totally Beautiful in a Gothic sort of way.. hahaha

and.. of course,

ALICE

Seriously, this story is funny and the characters just doesn't make sense..

TWEEDLE DEE & TWEEDLE DUM

kinda reminds me of my twin brothers.. hahaha! Exactly the same! :P

My Favourite Cat! CHESHIRE!!

I prefer this version of Ches, with Blue-ish Electric colour on it!

What’s with the Dragon’s name? Jabberwocky.... Reminds me of my fav America’s Best Dance Crew [Jabbawockeez] They are wicked!

I was kinda hoping they would suddenly appear and dance when the Dragon scene was going on.. LOLOL..

"Jabberwocky" is a poem of nonsense verse written by Lewis Carroll, originally featured as a part of his novel "Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There" (1872). It is considered by many to be one of the greatest nonsense poems written in the English language... ^^
Based on this poem, Tim Burton based his story of Alice in wonderland & bring element of action and surprise to it..

As for the 3D, it's hugely unfair for Alice to be following up Avatar-- its CGI effects and 3D depth is petty compared to James Cameron's titanic effort.

I’m not a fan of 3D movies, it seems that all new movies is having a 3D element innit . Anyone have a clue why??

The 3D is not terribly distracting, but it adds very little to the experience and is probably a large part of why the film's colors seem so muted and pale. Quite frankly this one can be enjoyed far well in a 2D screen.

3D just gives me headache.. Stop it unless its totally necessary.. please.. oh please…

The one thing that still bothers me was the dance. What was it called… fatter-whacking? Or was it butter-whackin’? Futter-shakin’? Owh.. Futterwacken izzit? Whatever.. like the name, it does not bring anything special to the movie and its forgettable.. But seriously, if anyone can dance like that, He’s worth staying in the Guinness world record book!

There's a lot to look at in Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but nothing that's worth remembering. Except, Johnny Depp! Hahaahaha..

Or Maybe I have lost my 'Munch-Ness'? Hahahaha..

Ain't he just Dashing!?

Actually, Jabberwock/Jabberwocky was the inspiration for the dance crew name. :)

I couldn't agree with you more about the film. It was lovely, beautiful entertainment while I was watching it, but I really haven't given it much though since.
